About
Maps that move, made simple
What Maplure is
Maplure is a map animation editor. You describe a journey or build it step by step, and it becomes a video: the camera flies between places, routes draw themselves along real roads and sea lanes, countries fill with colour and labels tell the story.
It is made for people who explain the world with maps: travel creators, history and geography channels, teachers, journalists and anyone who has wanted a map that moves without learning motion-graphics software.
How it works
- Start from words, a trip or a template. Type what should happen, add stops one by one, or open one of the templates.
- Edit on a real timeline. Every camera move, route, region and caption is a clip you can drag, trim and retime.
- Export in your browser. MP4, WebM, GIF or PNG, in landscape, vertical or square, rendered on your own device.
Private by default
You don't need an account. Projects, uploads and brand kits stay in your browser unless you sign in to save them to the cloud. There are no ads. We use Google Analytics to count visits, and it never sees your projects. The Privacy Policy explains the details.
Built on open maps
Maplure stands on the work of open-data communities and map services:
- OpenStreetMap, the map data under every style
- OpenFreeMap, free vector tiles
- MapLibre, the open-source map renderer
- Esri, satellite imagery
- Photon, Nominatim and OSRM, place search, borders and routes
If you publish a Maplure video, please credit them too. The terms say how.
